Sales and leads

Making sure every sales lead gets a fast reply

I built a lead system that captures enquiries from any route (web forms, QR codes, email, WhatsApp, file imports), shows exactly where each lead is, and follows up by email, WhatsApp or AI call against a response-time target.

Sector
Sales and lead handling for service businesses (cross-sector; first built with estate agents and trades in mind)
Stack
TypeScript, NestJS, Next.js, Postgres, Python, Stripe
Status
In use with a real business

The problem

Most businesses don't lose leads to competitors. They lose them to silence. Enquiries arrive through too many routes, nobody owns the follow-up, and by the time someone calls back the person has gone elsewhere.

I saw it in lettings, and every service business I've worked with has the same gap.

What I did

I built a multi-company lead system. Every route feeds one pipeline, so each lead has an owner and a clear status. Follow-up sequences run by email, WhatsApp or an AI phone call, each with a response-time timer, and bad leads can be flagged. Leads a business can't use can be passed to another business through a credits pool.

Separately, I built a data pipeline that keeps a database of UK companies and their officers up to date from the official company register's live change feed, so B2B prospect lists don't go stale.

Tools and stack, in plain words

A TypeScript codebase (NestJS API, Next.js front end) on Postgres with vector search, AI through a model-neutral gateway, Stripe, and an AI voice-calling service.

The company-register pipeline is in Python, streaming changes into Postgres, ready for workflow tools like n8n. Every integration has a demo mode, so the whole product can be shown without live keys.

Outcome

The lead system is in use with a real business. Every enquiry now lands in one pipeline with an owner and a reply deadline, instead of waiting in whichever inbox it arrived in.

The company-register pipeline keeps records current without anyone looking companies up by hand.

What it shows about how I work

I start from where money is actually lost. Here it was the gap between an enquiry arriving and someone replying, so the whole system is built around closing it.

FAQ

How can a small business stop losing sales leads?

Put every enquiry route into one pipeline, give each lead an owner and a response-time target, and automate the first follow-up. Him Yip built a system that does this by email, WhatsApp or AI call.

Can UK company data be kept up to date automatically?

Yes. Him Yip built a pipeline that listens to the official UK company register's live change feed and updates company and officer records in a database as changes happen.
